Collection: Crest

The crest on a Navy battleship is a unique identifying logo created by the Navy, taking into consideration the ship's namesake and naval and national history. It represents the ships shared mission, valor and bravery, and is believed to bring luck and safeguard the vessel and its crew.

The scroll and quill pens on the USS Missouri Crest denote the Capitulation of the Empire of Japan. Signed on the deck on the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay 1945.
