The USS Missouri (BB-63) is an Iowa-class battleship. She known as "Big Guns" because of her powerful gun battery, which included nine 16-inch guns capable of firing 2, 700 lb armor-piercing shells over 20 miles. During the Korean War, the Missouri's guns provided the firepower in defense of the U.S. land forces.
